ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — American Furniture Warehouse is joining Operation Homefront’s national Veterans Day Campaign “11 Days of Impact” to help raise $111,000 from Nov. 1-11.
All of the retailer’s locations will be participating, and the funds will be used to help Operation Homefront deliver relief, resiliency and recurring support programs to military veterans.
To kick off the campaign, AFW will be donating $1 for each employee, and customers and employees will be invited to participate either with donations or by writing letters of support to members of the military and their families during the 11-day campaign.
Veterans Day is of personal importance to American Furniture Warehouse CEO Jake Jabs, who served in the Air Force and in the Korean War. Jabs was awarded the American Legion’s “Individual Community Service Award” and was recognized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
“My three brothers and I all served in the military at the same time,” Jabs said. “Veterans Day is more than just selling furniture, it’s a time to honor our veterans and the sacrifices they and their families have made for our country.”
