
SOMERSET, N.J. – Contemporary motion seating manufacturer Ekornes partnered with its national dealer network to raise nearly $300,000 during the June 5-Aug. 3 Stressless Charity promotion.
The company modified its annual sales event calendar considering the COVID-19 pandemic to give retailers the opportunity to raise funds for local organizations while offering consumers significant discounts on Stressless furniture.
“There has never been a more important time to give back and support those in need in our local communities,” said Ekornes President Peter Bjerregaard. “Our annual charity promotion is one of our top producing events each year, and our retailers are familiar with how to promote and implement it locally.”
The company runs the annual Charity promotion through its network of dealers each year from November through January but moved this offer up and ran it beginning June 5. Consumers were asked to donate a minimum of $50 to the retailers’ choice of charity and in return they receive savings on Stressless products.
“The charity component combined with discounts on nearly all Stressless furniture made this a very successful promotion,” said Bjerregaard. “We recognized that there would be pent-up demand for furniture after so many parts of the country quarantined this past spring during COVID-19.”
The charity promotion will run for two additional periods this year: Sept. 4-Oct. 19 and Nov. 20-Jan. 18, 2021. An additional monetary incentive to retail sales associates will be offered during the September event.
