Flexsteel completely renovated its High Point showroom entrance to highlight strong-selling products.
DUBUQUE, Iowa – Full-line manufacturer and importer Flexsteel Inds. has signed on for the recently announced First Tuesday initiative to attract retailers to High Point the first Tuesday of each month.
“The First Tuesday initiative is a great idea,” said David Crimmins, Flexsteel’s vice president of sales. “The world is changing, and the time is right to leverage the tremendous effort and investment that goes into preparing this great space for each market event. Our showroom has been 100% built-out and open full time ever since Premarket. Many of our retailers have joined us for both live and virtual showroom tours in the time between then and now. Our retailers tell us they really like having the flexibility.”
The move is part of the company’s efforts to find new, innovative ways to connect with its retailers – whether in-person or virtually – and Crimmins said it was an “easy yes” when Flexsteel was first approached about participating in First Tuesday, a concept spearheaded by Manwah.
Flexsteel, which debuted a dramatic new entrance to its 65,000-square-foot High Point showroom at September’s Premarket, already had made the decision that it was going to keep its showroom open year-round for both live and virtual tours.
Flexsteel saw first-hand how keeping the showroom open full-time provides an opportunity for more personal interaction with their retailers and buyers. Virtual tours also have proven to be a hit, and to accommodate those, Flexsteel invested in equipment and staff to ensure a good experience. Joining other manufacturers and suppliers in the First Tuesday initiative can allow Flexsteel retailers who want the live experience to consolidate their visits with the brands they sell in a single trip to High Point.
First Tuesdays begin Dec. 3, but Flexsteel’s showroom is open daily by appointment to current and prospective retailers. The company also intends to leverage the space as a resource for supplier meetings, training programs and other special events throughout the year.
