PONTOTOC, Miss. – A local man has pled guilty to setting two fires that caused major damage last year at the American Furniture Mfg. (now Peak Living) plant here according to a local report.
Jason Lee Doss, 32, entered a guilty plea for second-degree arson in Pontotoc County circuit court and was sentenced to two consecutive 10-year sentences, as well as five years post-release supervision. Doss, who was arrested shortly after setting the fires on Valentine’s Day, 2019, was credited with time served.
The fires caused heavy damage, destroying a 100,000-square-foot warehouse, the promotional upholstery producer’s manufacturing facility here, along with 5,000 pieces of finished goods.
The company was able to resume shipping 10 days after the blaze.
