MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. – The Juvenile Product Manufacturers Assn. has put a call out for companies to be “ambassadors” during Baby Safety Month in September.
The ambassador campaign allows companies to take a role in educating and helping parents understand basic safety tips in areas such as sleep safety, car seat safety and furniture tip-over. The JPMA has links to these and other basic safety tips, which can be found by clicking here.
A separate link provides additional information – such as benefits and other steps to becoming an ambassador for companies interested in participating.
JPMA established Baby Safety Month in 1983. Held each September (the ninth month of the year), the month-long campaign aims to raise visibility of safety issues during the stages of early childhood.
“Baby Safety Month is geared towards helping parents navigate the ‘ages and stages’ of early childhood by providing actionable safety tips and for selecting and using products designed to support the safety of babies and young children as they grow and explore their world,” JPMA said in its website.
I’m Tom Russell and have worked at Furniture/Today since August 2003. Since then, I have covered the international side of the business from a logistics and sourcing standpoint. Since then, I also have visited several furniture trade shows and manufacturing plants in Asia, which has helped me gain perspective about the industry in that part of the world. As I continue covering the import side of the business, I look forward to building on that knowledge base through conversations with industry officials and future overseas plant tours. From time to time, I will file news and other industry perspectives online and, as always, welcome your response to these Web postings.
