BARI, Italy – Veteran furniture industry executive Steve Lush has joined Italian upholstery manufacturer Digió Italia as president of sales for North and South America.
The move gives the fabric and leather seating and sleeper resource a senior-level management presence stateside. At Digió, Lush will work directly with key accounts in the Americas, as well as develop and manage Digió’s sales force.
Lush, most recently president of Kuka North America, has a long track record of executive positions in both the retail and manufacturing sides of the furniture industry. Before joining Kuka in 2018, he was president of case goods at Hooker Furniture. He came to Hooker from high-end retailer Robb & Stucky, where he served as president for five and a half years.
Prior to that, he was vice president of eastern U.S. sales at Universal Furniture after spending five years at retailer Hendricks Furniture Group as executive vice president.
I’m Powell Slaughter, senior editor at Furniture/Today. I returned to the publication in January 2015 after nine years of writing about furniture retail strategies and best practices at a monthly magazine focusing on home furnishings retail operations. Prior to that, I spent 10 years with F/T covering wood furniture, the last five of those as case goods editor. Upon my return to F/T, I developed coverage of the logistical and service aspects of the furniture industry as well as following the occasional, home office and home entertainment categories. In April 2018 I took over the upholstery category, with responsibility for coverage of the fabric and leather stationary and motion upholstery, recliners and massage chair categories.
