EASTVALE, Calif. – Upholstery and case goods vendor Parker House Furniture has joined the list of World Market Center exhibitors saying they’ll take a pass on the upcoming Las Vegas Market due to concerns about COVID-19.
“Although we usually participate in Las Vegas market and plan to in the future, we are withdrawing from this summer’s market due to COVID-19 and issues surrounding the pandemic,” said Parker House President Chris Lupo. “The health and safety of our staff and dealers is our priority, and we don’t view the Las Vegas summer market as essential at this time. Our business continues to thrive, and we are fulfilling orders, flowing product and supporting our dealers as always.”
Lupo added that Parker House will show by appointment at the Sept. 14-15 Premarket in High Point, where it will debut new introductions in case goods and motion upholstery “as well as launching an entirely new and exciting category.”
Retailers can review the entire Parker House line, including an interactive digital catalog, on the company’s website.
I’m Powell Slaughter, senior editor at Furniture/Today. I returned to the publication in January 2015 after nine years of writing about furniture retail strategies and best practices at a monthly magazine focusing on home furnishings retail operations. Prior to that, I spent 10 years with F/T covering wood furniture, the last five of those as case goods editor. Upon my return to F/T, I developed coverage of the logistical and service aspects of the furniture industry as well as following the occasional, home office and home entertainment categories. In April 2018 I took over the upholstery category, with responsibility for coverage of the fabric and leather stationary and motion upholstery, recliners and massage chair categories.
