AT THE MARKET – Domestic upholstery producer Sam Moore is adding a custom domestic occasional table program this market offering dealers and designers a multitude of options in finish, fabric and even nail head trim.
The Cocktails & More program offers four styles of cocktail tables – a round, an oval, a rectangular and a square – with upholstered tops and solid wood frames. The frames are made in North Carolina and the pieces are finished and upholstered at Sam Moore’s plant in Bedford, Va.
In addition to more than 650 fabric options, there are eight standard finishes for the wood frames and 15 premier finishes available at an upcharge. Customers also can choose from two different sizes of nail head trim, which are available in four finishes.
The upholstered tops also are available as tufted and non-tufted and the tables come with trays and also come standard with hidden casters that are equipped with locking brakes.
The cocktail tables retail from $1,299 to $1,499 and ship in six to eight weeks from the time of order.
Buyers can see the Cocktails & More program at the Sam Moore showroom in space C-1058 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
I’m Tom Russell and have worked at Furniture/Today since August 2003. Since then, I have covered the international side of the business from a logistics and sourcing standpoint. Since then, I also have visited several furniture trade shows and manufacturing plants in Asia, which has helped me gain perspective about the industry in that part of the world. As I continue covering the import side of the business, I look forward to building on that knowledge base through conversations with industry officials and future overseas plant tours. From time to time, I will file news and other industry perspectives online and, as always, welcome your response to these Web postings.
