CHICAGO — Threekit, an online product visualization company with home furnishings customers, has partnered with the BigCommerce marketplace to allow home furnishings brands and others to more easily customize products in 3D and augmented reality directly on the site.
“It’s more important now than ever before for brands to have robust product visualizations that shoppers can rely on to make informed purchasing decisions,” said Matt Gorniak, CEO of Threekit. “We’re excited to see the amazing visual shopping experiences that BigCommerce companies will build with the integration of a brand new suite of tools.”
The new collaboration enables brands to customize, personalize and configure products in real-time; as well as using Threekit’s Virtual Photographer to generate the initial photorealistic images. Just this month, the company launched its flagship product, Virtual Photographer, a program that creates product images for e-commerce that look real but are completely computer-rendered.
Gorniak said since customers are able to view, explore and customize products to create exactly what they are looking for, it can lead to a 40% increase in the conversion rate and the amount of returns is also greatly reduced.
BigCommerce, which started in 2009, is a software-as-a-service e-commerce platform that allows merchants of all sizes to build, innovate, and grow business online. More than 60,000 companies currently use BigCommerce to sell online.
