LAS VEGAS – Due to concerns about COVID-19 and the impact on potential customers, case goods importer Vilo Home has decided not to open for the summer Las Vegas Market.
The company’s decision comes a few weeks before the Aug. 30-Sept. 3 event. At Las Vegas Market, Vilo Home’s major trade show event, the company typically shows most of its introductions in solid wood line of bedroom, dining room and occasional/accent furniture.
However, company President Robert Sala said the company decided not to show as “the safety of our employees, our family and our customers is just not worth any possible amount of business.”
More information about the company’s product line can be seen at www.vilohome.net.
I’m Tom Russell and have worked at Furniture/Today since August 2003. Since then, I have covered the international side of the business from a logistics and sourcing standpoint. Since then, I also have visited several furniture trade shows and manufacturing plants in Asia, which has helped me gain perspective about the industry in that part of the world. As I continue covering the import side of the business, I look forward to building on that knowledge base through conversations with industry officials and future overseas plant tours. From time to time, I will file news and other industry perspectives online and, as always, welcome your response to these Web postings.
